Lindsey Stewart ran the Photographs department at Christie's for many years and is now the photograph expert at the book dealers Quaritch. Lindsey will discuss how the market for photographs at auction developed from the early 1980s, what the market is looking for and how this has changed over time, and the factors that influence the prices seen at auction. She will also discuss the the different methods of selling historic and contemporary photographs: dealers, fairs, auction, etc, and explore the differences between each.
