Documenting the World

This working group lead by Kelley Wilder and Gregg Mitman (University of Wisconsin, Madison/ Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies) is supported by the Max Plank Institute for the History of Science, Berlin and forms the first working group of the 5 year project Sciences of the Archive. In January 2010, eleven scholars met in Berlin to discuss various aspects of the impulse to document the world in photography and film. A volume of essays treating this subject is forthcoming.
